Based in Northern California and Santa Fe, NM, WOLF SCHNEIDER has written for and edited art, lifestyle, and entertainment magazines. In Santa Fe, she was editor in chief of the SANTA FEAN, consulting editor of SOUTHWEST ART, editor of LIVING WEST, and guest editor of the SWAIA/NATIVE PEOPLES INDIAN MARKET MAGAZINE. She elevated the SANTA FEAN to national awareness, attracting such writers as Pam Houston, Jim Harrison, Kirk Ellis, John Nichols, and Michael McGarrity, and winning three Clarion Awards as well as a mention in Liz Smith's media column. She is known for developing editorial strategy and managing editorial teams.
​​​In Los Angeles, Wolf was previously senior editor at MOVIELINE, where she wrote and edited memorable articles on Catherine Zeta Jones,Michael Bay, Ashton Kutcher, Mace Neufeld, Viggo Mortensen, Lisa Kudrow, Sam Elliott, Bret Michaels, Harry Hamlin, and artist Russell Chatham. In the nineties as editor of the prestigious AMERICAN FILM, she assigned and oversaw cover stories on Julia Roberts, Jeff Bridges, Matt Dillon, John Sayles, Susan Sarandon, Keith Carradine, Armand Assante, and Michelle Pfeiffer, and collaborated with such outstanding writers as Richard Ford, Bret Easton Ellis, Alexander Cockburn, Alice Adams, Martha Frankel, and Lance Loud. She established herself as independent film editor at THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.
​​​She has written for magazines owned by Time Inc., Conde Nast, Hearst, Meredith, and BPI, including INTERVIEW, MORE, INSTYLE, O: THE OPRAH MAGAZINE, MADEMOISELLE, ELLE, MARIE CLAIRE, WOMAN'S DAY, WESTERN INTERIORS AND DESIGN, and COWBOYS & INDIANS, as well as the LOS ANGELES TIMES, SAN FRANCISCO EXAMINER, and USA TODAY.

​​She's written screenplays, a novel that was optioned, book reviews, artist profiles, the biography DAVID PEARSON: THE PATH OF A SCULPTOR, and contributed a chapter to CHARLES BURNETT: INTERVIEWS, along with editing mystery and non-fiction books. She's been a juror for the Tony Hillerman Mystery Short Story Contest and served on the faculty at AFI, UCLA, and the Tony Hillerman Writers Conference. She holds a BA in speech and theater with an English minor from CCNY, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude, and an MA from USC. Along the way, she's come to agree with Horace Greeley's supposition that only one thing endures, and that is character.
